Position Statement:
The position is responsible for performing activities in support of pharmaceutical solid dosage packaging operations at the Puracap International Franklin, Kentucky facility including set-up, changeover, troubleshooting, maintenance and repair of the packaging equipment.
Responsibilities:
- Must be able to communicate in English both verbally and in writing.
- Must have operations setup and changeover knowledge of blister machines.
- Must have setup troubleshooting knowledge of bottling lines with both slat and channel counters.
- Must be familiar with ancillary equipment e.g. case packers, cartoners, heat shrink bundlers, adhesive hot melt applicators, coders etc.
- Set-up, adjust and operate packaging equipment in accordance with approved specifications, and other related SOPs.
- Complete production-related documentation as required.
- Write and perform preventive maintenance (PM) procedures of packaging equipment.
- Maintain all work areas in a clean and organized fashion.
- Maintain packaging and support equipment to allow for efficient and safe packaging of quality product.
- Changeover manufacturing equipment. Reduce changeover time, machine downtime and increase machine efficiency.
- Assist in the performance of maintenance task instructions as required or during shutdown.
- Comply with all company controlled documentation and cGMPs as they pertain to equipment and equipment maintenance.
- Provide written suggested updates to SOPs to department manager.
- Document the execution of maintenance activities as required on appropriate documentation (i.e. maintenance work orders, log books and forms) in a timely and efficient manner.
- Adhere to all safety requirements specified in controlled documentation and in equipment manuals.
- Understand and assist in implementing safety procedures and cGMPs
- Report required spare parts of packaging equipment.
- Suggest equipment modifications to increase machine efficiency reduce downtime and reduce changeover time.
- Understands and applies the use of hand and power tools, machine tools, and measuring instruments.
- Support projects and miscellaneous activities as required by leadership
- Professionally interact with other departments when needed
- Maintain effectiveness of the Quality System components relevant to this position.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- H.S Diploma
- 5 years of working experience in a pharmaceutical or Nutraceutical plant.
