Senior Supply Chain Analyst (NY)

Location: New York City, New York

 

Summary:

A strong Purchasing professional with a well-rounded background in sourcing and purchasing in a Pharmaceutical manufacturing site.  Must have a professional go-getter attitude to improve the department and generate cost savings.

Duties & Responsibilities:

 

  • Coordinates activities involved with procuring goods and services such as raw materials, equipment, tools, parts, and supplies required to meet production and project schedules for the organization.
  • Reviews and processes approved purchase requisitions.
  • Confers with vendors to obtain product or service information such as price, availability, and delivery schedule.
  • Selects products for purchase based on engineering specifications or other information provided by the person making the requisition.
  • Estimates values according to knowledge of market price.
  • Prepares purchase orders and/or quote requests.
  • Reviews quotes and negotiates contracts within budgetary limitations and scope of authority.
  • Maintains procurement records such as items or services purchased, costs, delivery, product quality or performance, inventories and supplier information.
  • Discusses defective or unacceptable goods or services with quality control personnel, users, vendors, and others to determine source of trouble and take corrective action.
  • Works with Finance to correct invoice discrepancies due to quantity and/or cost.
  • Expedites delivery of goods to users, as needed.
  • Schedules internal and external manufacturing activities, based on Master Schedule.
  • Works with Quality team to monitor, track and communicating supplier performance.
  • Participates in Engineering Change Process to include entering master data for new and modified parts. Coordinates engineering changes cut in of new or modified parts with suppliers to minimize cost and obsolescence.
  • Partners with Manufacturing Engineering to meet company goals for cost reduction, outsourcing, and new product launches.
  • Optimizes use of ERP system (MFG/PRO) to maximize efficiency of Manufacturing and Business processes.
  • Generates required ERP system reports for management review.

Requirements:

Education and/or Experience

Bachelor’s degree required. Minimum three to five years Purchasing and Planning/Scheduling experience in Manufacturing environment working with an ERP system such as SAP or Visual. Experience purchasing pharmaceutical components a must.

Computer Skills:

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of ERP/MRP software, and Microsoft Office.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:

The following certifications are applicable to this position:
APICS: CIRM, CPIM
ISM: C.P.M., A.P.P.

Other Skills and Abilities:

Thorough understanding of ERP/MRP software systems, logistics, inventory control, BOM structure, and supply chain management required.
